50 years of the Ilkley Gardeners' AssociationWay back in 1967 a group of Ilkley allotment holders where encouraged by the then Ilkley Urban District Council to get together initally as a means of communication between the allotment holders and the council. The group had use of a building in Cemetery Road with the blessing of Ilkley Council. Later that year the Association agreed a suggestion that members would pool their resources in order to buy horticultural supplies in bulk, and thus was born the Ilkley Allotments and Gardens...

Burley Gardeners' Association's Annual Show takes place on Bank Holiday Monday 27th August at the Queen’s Hall, Main Street, Burley in Wharfedale. There are a number of classes open to non-Burley residents. Anyone wishing to submit entries can obtain a copy of the schedule from:

Burley Gardener's Association are holding their AGM & Quiz on Thursday 12th April

Entry to the meeting is £2 for non-members. The meeting begins at 7.30pm and is at the Salem Church Hall on Main Street, Burley-in-Wharfedale (behind the Queen’s Head). The AGM will be followed by refreshments and a quiz.

Membership runs April to April and costs £8 for families or £6 for an individual.

Steve Hickman, Hoyland PlantsThe next meeting of the Burley Gardeners’ Association will take place on Thursday 8th March. Steve Hickman from Hoyland Plant Centre in Barnsley will give a talk on Agapanthus and Nerines. Hoyland Plant Centre is a family run business founded in 1985. All meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month, March through to December, starting at 7.45pm. Doors open by 7.30 with a cup of tea and biscuits available (included in admission) and are held in the Ilkley Parish Church House Hall, by the main lights in the centre of Ilkley.
