PopStars Finalists for 2006 |

This year's Wharfedale Popstars' Class Final was held on 25th June at Moorfield School's Main Hall and once again, the adjudicators commented on how much talent there was in the hall, more even than last year!
The Final started at 2pm and the audience was treated to a pair of songs from each of the seven finalists. Defending Champion from 2005 started off the proceedings and the judges really did have a hard time as the quality of the performances was fantastic! This was followed by a 15 minute refreshement break and a further 30 minutes of Cabaret with songs from our Compere, Laura Judge, a Witch from Eastwick (Caroline Bright) and a past Wharfedale Festival Winner (Matthew) who kept the audience entertained whilst we awaited the judges decision.
After a lot of deliberation, the Judges chose Nykita Flavius and Mirjam Harzenmoser as joint runners up, and Aimee Dyson as the 2006 Wharfedale Popstars Champion who received £100.
The winners were also invited to sing at the Fun in The Park day in August.

Preliminary Auditions' 2006
Age Group 14-19 (as at May 27th 2006)
These were held Saturday afternoons, during November 2005, for the 2006 competition at the "Upstagers Barn",
Station Road, Ilkley, West Yorkshire. Thank you to the Upstagers Theatre Group for the loan of the facilities.
